The Lens Protector is a precision fabricated optic made from high purity specialty quartz that possesses material properties which are most suitable for YAG lasers. Specifically, it is an extremely low absorption material to minimize heating and its extremely low coefficient of thermal expansion results in an excellent thermal shock resistance that is superior to ordinary glasses. To further enhance performance, a high damage threshold anti-reflection coating is applied to provide for more than 99.5% transmission and reflection losses less than 0.25% per surface which translates into use with 1030nm, 1064nm and 1070nm CW and pulsed lasers.
REFLEX Analytical reiterates and does not recommend the use of coated or uncoated BK-7 glass or other glass materials since they absorb higher levels of heat which leads to a much shorter productive life and system component failure.
