Ultra High Vacuum Conflat Flange Viewports
REFLEX Analytical introduces a new series of single knife edge and double knife edge Ultra High Vacuum (UHV) Conflat Flange Viewports that can achieve UHV performance at 10 -12cc/second established with fluorocarbon o-ring seals and a differentially pumped vacuum system. By pumping on the differential section with only a mechanical pump, UHV pressures on the inside can be routinely achieved.
CLICK HERE to watch a short video demonstrating how easy it is to establish. This is the most reliable solution to replace and eliminate vacuum seal failures made with either epoxy or solder.
The user can easily remove the retaining ring and repolish or replace optical transmission windows that have become cloudy or degraded, thereby extending their useful life. Also if the experimental requirements are revised, only the window itself can be changed which offers considerable cost savings. Note that the o-ring seals on both sides of the window (in the cover plate as well as in the flange) protrude a little to prevent the metal surfaces from actually contacting the fragile transmission window material. Each mounted assembly offers a UHV seal and is leak tested prior to shipment.
Flange diameters include 2.75”, 3.38”, 4.50” and 6.0”. Each 304 stainless steel assembly can be baked to 150°C and can incorporate a ultraviolet, visible or infrared transmitting window material such as BaF2 Barium Fluoride, CaF2 Calcium Fluoride, Fused Silica, IR Quartz, KBr Potassium Bromide, LiF Lithium Fluoride, MgF2 Magnesium Fluoride, Sapphire, ZnSe Zinc Selenide or other optical material. Non-magnetic 316 stainless steel assemblies are also available.

optional extension is available for attaching a N2 purge.
