Quest Single Reflection ATR Accessory
The Quest Single Reflection Diamond ATR Accessory is convincingly the best development for modern-day ATR Spectroscopy and it may be the only accessory you will ever need for quantitative and qualitative mid-infrared and far-infrared analysis of solids, powders, liquids, pastes and gum-like samples. It is a high performance accessory with superior infrared energy throughput using highly reflective gold coated mirrors interfaced with a robust and durable type IIIa monolithic
Diamond sampling surface. A 1.60mm diameter sample area requires the smallest amount of sample material allowing greater productivity with faster clean up and repeat sample analysis.
The Quest with optional heated top plates includes software and USB temperature control capable of heating samples up to 110°C
allowing real-time monitoring of spectral performance, automated temperature programming and control, data collection and logging.

Scroll below for order details. The Type IIIa monolithic Diamond is available for performance in either the 7,800cm-1 to 400cm-1 or 10,000cm-1 to 40cm-1 extended range. Unlike other Diamond ATR accessories which use thin and weak anti-reflection coated wafers that have a tendency to break and delaminate; the Quest’s monolithic Diamond is supreme in strength and spectral performance for reason of its genuine natural state and inherent characteristics. Furthermore, the Quest replaces older legendary ATR accessories that require expensive ATR crystals and the use of gaskets or epoxy thereby eliminating the frustrating aspects of top plate assembly, the risk of fracturing ATR crystals and top plate leakage.
To accommodate lower budgets; less expensive Quest top plate options include Germanium, Silicon and Zinc Selenide. All of the ATR crystals in top plate assemblies have an anti-reflection coating on their underside surfaces for maximum energy throughput and enhanced sensitivity with the exception of the extended range Diamond top plate remaining uncoated to extend to the far-infrared. Each pre-aligned top plate is magnetically held in place and is easily interchangeable with accessory’s optical base unit.
An adjustable clamp arm assembly with a set load torque limiter screw knob is permanently affixed to the Quest’s optical unit. It provides for a consistent and reproducible load to either one of the flat or concave anvils supplied thereby enabling intimate contact of a solid sample with the ATR crystal. A volatiles cover with an o-ring seal is also supplied. An optional specular reflectance top plate is available. If the clamp arm assembly is not required for sampling, it can be conveniently rotated to a position either to the left or right side of the central post.
