Cyclone Fixed and Variable, Short and Long Pathlength Gas Cell Series with Optional 200°C Heating
REFLEX Analytical offers the largest selection of gas cells with over 50 fixed and variable pathlength gas cells including a dual series of economically priced fixed, long pathlength gas cells and more demanding heatable or non-heatable, fixed and variable long pathlength gas cells as described below. All of the gas cells are suitable for operation in all modern FTIR spectrometers using an appropriate baseplate or slide mount. The long pathlength gas cell series is designed with simple, easy to remove mirror carriages. The removable mirror carriage feature provides for easy cleaning and exchange if a new carriage with a similar or different pathlength configuration is required. For demanding applications requiring the highest chemicals compatibility and a need for either heatable or non-heatable, fixed and/or variable long pathlength gas cells; REFLEX Analytical offers a robust Cyclone Gas Cell series whose internal and external components are fabricated from Nickel-plated Aluminum and Stainless Steel, assembled with Gold protected mirrors and a purgeable transfer optics box. The gas cells are completely free from adhesives and all of the Viton o-ring seals are pre-baked to eliminate any contamination from solvents or out-gassing. Additionally, the screws assembled inside the cell body have small bleed holes drilled into them to prevent any trapped pockets of gas causing sample cross contamination. These design features ensure freedom from unwanted impurities. The cells include vacuum/gas inlet and outlet valves and a choice of CaF2, KBr or ZnSe windows. The cells are available either with a borosilicate glass body for operation at ambient temperature and pressures ranging from vacuum to 15 psi or a Nickel-plated Aluminum body for high pressure operation up to 125 psi along with optional heating jackets/high stability temperature control up to 200°C. Again, the unique feature includes variable pathlength mirror carriages and a range of fixed pathlength mirror carriages which can be used within a single gas cell body to greatly enhance analytical flexibility and reduce costs. Depending on the application needs, choose from three different cell volumes and select from the broad listing of fixed or variable pathlengths.

Purge bellows, a pressure gauge kit, desiccant storage caps and replacement windows are also available if required. Purge bellows fit between the optics box of the cell and the spectrometer to allow the purging of transfer optics with inert gases such as Nitrogen. This feature allows absorbance due to atmospheric H2O and CO2 to be eliminated from spectral measurements. The pressure gauges provides an integral pressure relief valve which ensures that cells are automatically depressurized in the event of accidental over pressurization. Desiccant storage caps are designed to fit over the optical inlet and outlet ports of the gas cells to seal the transfer optics when the cells are not in use. One of the caps contains a desiccant material, which maintains a dry atmosphere within the transfer optics box and extends the life of KBr windows. The laser alignment device allows the visual verification of the optical pathlength. This is especially useful when different pathlengths are regularly used with variable pathlength cells.
