40mm Heated Cooled Pellet Die
Precision manufactured from hardened 440C stainless steel. The assembly includes a black anodized heating/cooling jacket, die chamber, a removable base with a vacuum attachment, (2) polished anvils, plunger, (2) vacuum o-rings, extractor ring and operating instructions.
Attaching 1/4" tubing from a heated/cooled circulating bath to the die jacket's inlet/outlet ports provides for integrated liquid heating and cooling capability at temperatures between -4 to +212 degrees F (-20 to +100 degrees C).
Optional: Tungsten Carbide Anvils
Die Chamber Height Without Sample: 48mm
Each Die Anvil Thickness: 9.50mm
Maximum Height In Die Chamber For Uncompressed Sample Matrix Using Two Anvils: 23mm
(accounts for locating die plunger 6mm into die chamber)
Maximum Height In Die Chamber For Uncompressed Sample Matrix Using One Anvil: 32.50mm
(accounts for locating die plunger 6mm into die chamber)
Maximum Load: 30 Tons
Tips
- typically the sample pellet is fabricated between two anvils although one anvil can be used
to fabricate a thicker sample pellet.
- allow 6mm minimum to locate the die plunger into the die chamber in order to follow the die
chamber wall.
- the evacuable design feature with the use of an
oil-less vacuum pump permits easy installation of anvils and plunger without the vacuum resistance normally associated with non-evacuable dies due to the precision fabrication and tight tolerances to mitigate
flashing of the powdered sample matrix during pellet fabrication.
